IPFT Celebrates 35th Foundation Day with Strategic Scientific Collaborations The Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT) marked its 35th Foundation Day with a two-day Symposium-cum-Industry Interaction on May 30–31, 2025, centered on the theme “Chemical Safety and Security: Importance, Alternatives, and Mitigation.” As part of the celebrations, IPFT exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) on May 31, 2025, in the presence of Dr. S. Venkata Mohan, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The collaboration will focus on monitoring contaminants and their metabolites, developing certified reference materials, and undertaking other key scientific initiatives to strengthen environmental and chemical safety standards. These collaborations represent a significant milestone in IPFT’s mission to promote green chemistry, environmental sustainability, scientific excellence, and industry-oriented research.

The event focused on the theme: “Chemical Safety and Security: Importance, Alternatives, and Mitigation.” As part of the celebrations, IPFT entered into two significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to foster collaborative research and strengthen scientific innovation in the domain of the theme of the symposium. The first MoU was signed with the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), setting the stage for joint research and academic exchange in areas related to chemical safety and sustainable technologies.

In this work, we are developing a surfactant-free Halloysite Clay Nanotube (HNT) stabilized botanical Pickering emulsion for enhanced biopesticide delivery. The formulation was optimized by standardizing HNT concentration, oil phase fraction, and botanical-to-carrier oil ratio, along with evaluation of particle wettability (contact angle studies). Stability was validated under stress conditions including pH variation, salinity, and temperature storage. The optimized system exhibits improved emulsion stability, enhanced surface retention, and potential for sustained bio-efficacy with reduced environmental impact.
